M. K. S. Pasha is the Asia Regional Head for Protected Conserved and Heritage Areas and the IUCN Green List Programme in Asia at the IUCN Asia Regional Office in Bangkok, Thailand.

With over 25 years of experience in wildlife conservation and sustainable natural resource management, Pasha has been advancing area-based conservation and biodiversity agenda across the region.

In his role, Pasha also oversees the implementation of IUCN’s Green List Programme in Asia, which recognizes and supports effective management of protected and conserved areas across landscapes and seascapes. He also serves as the Coordinator of the Asia Protected Areas Partnership (APAP) and the CBD Subregional South Asia TSC Centre, where he works to mainstream global biodiversity goals and promote regional collaboration for the sustainable development.

Pasha’s expertise spans a range of conservation fields, including human-wildlife coexistence, ecosystem restoration, conservation management standards species, policy development, and community-based conservation models. His work has contributed to shaping the future of conservation in Asia, strengthening partnerships, and fostering innovative approaches that balance biodiversity needs with community development.
